At KMS Technology Mexico, we are passionate about building innovative software solutions that drive impact. As part of an international tech company, we offer a collaborative and inclusive environment where your ideas matter and your growth is our priority.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a highly experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in developer-focused content and a passion for delivering clear, concise, and impactful API documentation. As part of our cross-functional team, you will work closely with engineers, product managers, and developer advocates to create and maintain high-quality documentation for our public-facing APIs. Your contributions will directly support how developers adopt, understand, and build on our platform.

If you enjoy making things simpler for developers, appreciate clear and practical documentation, and care deeply about quality — this is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end creation, editing, and maintenance of API documentation, including reference docs, developer guides, use cases, changelogs, and onboarding materials.

  • Translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and developer-friendly content.

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather insights on API design, usage scenarios, and release cycles.

  • Develop and maintain documentation standards, templates, and content structures to ensure consistency and scalability.

  • Actively incorporate feedback from internal teams and external developers to improve content accuracy and usefulness.

  • Help define and advocate for best practices in developer experience and content strategy.

  • Stay up to date with trends and tools in REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, and broader API ecosystems.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, developer advocate, or similar role with a focus on API or developer documentation.

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and API keys.

  • Familiarity with API specifications like OpenAPI/Swagger.

  • Ability to read and interpret code examples in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

  • Excellent technical writing, editing, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience with developer documentation tools and workflows, including Markdown, static site generators (e.g., Docusaurus, Hugo), and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile, and fast-moving development environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience writing for developer platforms, API-first products, or SaaS solutions.

  • Familiarity with GraphQL, webhooks, or event-driven architectures.

  • Background in software development or a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly those involving documentation or developer portals.

  • Understanding of developer onboarding workflows and community engagement best practices.
