General description of SAP Premium Engagements and TQM Purpose

A Technical Quality Manager (TQM) works with customers who have signed a Premium Engagement contract, such as SAP MaxAttention or SAP Active Attention. The role aims to foster a long-term relationship, providing better access to SAP for solution operations, project success, and adoption of innovations in SAP-centric solutions. The TQM manages the selection and delivery of SAP support services at appropriate times and acts as a liaison between SAP departments and partners throughout the customer lifecycle. The TQM must understand and work with various customer organizational areas, including the IT Department, Business Departments, and Purchasing. A strong Basis background with expertise in Hybrid solutions, integrations (cloud and on-premise), and SAP Cloud Platform is required.

Career Level Summary:

The TQM typically handles complex customer software solutions involving one or a few projects. They work independently and coordinate with SAP back-office functions as needed. They identify opportunities where Premium Engagement adds value and align these with other SAP units. They often engage with senior management, including CIOs, and may serve as Cloud & Support Lead, Technical Lead, or Customer Success Executive.

  • Understand Hybrid landscapes (Cloud / On-premise)
  • Evaluate and document customer situations
  • Identify risks and top issues
  • Execute Engagement Plans
  • Manage service and action plans
  • Oversee Operations and Innovation Control Centers and Engineering Services
  • Document and report engagement status, actions, and value
  • Manage Engagement Extensions

This role requires senior Basis experience across industries, with strong leadership skills. The candidate should be motivated, committed, and capable of guiding customers towards the Intelligent Enterprise.

Technical Experience

  • Effective problem resolution, including innovative approaches
  • Experience with large landscapes/environments
  • 4+ years in implementations, upgrades, migrations
  • Strong knowledge in S/4HANA, SAP HANA DB, Cloud Migrations, Performance Tuning
  • Technical and functional communication skills

Other Experience

  • Communication with senior management in large companies

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar.
