Job Title: Technical Engineering Manager

Job Description

• This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of features, enhancements, and support for the client’s customer-facing website and mobile app (iOS & Android).

• This role is accountable for stewardship of cross-functional and distributed software development teams.

• The Technical Engineering Manager owns solution delivery and is ultimately responsible for software development planning, execution, and quality delivery.

• This role will lead discussions with technical architects and team leads to decide on solution paths, technology choices, and development and testing practices.

• Must have programming experience within the last 5-6 years; approximately 5% hands-on coding may be needed.
• Should be comfortable with hot-fixes, troubleshooting, and production deployments.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Development Manager or Engineering Manager role across multiple software development teams, including web, mobile, backend, and DevOps.
• Experience leading teams/projects on cloud providers like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Intermediate knowledge of DevOps and Test Automation.
• Familiarity with modern web and mobile tech stacks, including React, Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Azure Functions, CI/CD Pipelines, Figma, and Jira.
• Experience creating software delivery and release plans aligned with product management.
• Ability to provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, KPIs, and blockers.
• Strong knowledge of web application and microservices development.
• Proven leadership experience managing software development and DevOps teams and delivering high-quality products using industry-standard practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members, facilitating decision-making processes.
• Experience in client-services consulting, directly managing software development for client product teams.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities:

• Stay updated with latest technologies and trends like DevOps, Azure PaaS, Serverless, Containers, APIs, and Microservices, and recommend adoption as appropriate.
• Ensure software products meet business requirements and are delivered as planned.
• Lead technical teams, translating business priorities into technical solutions.
• Implement and maintain best practices for development, including coding standards, reviews, testing, and CI/CD.
• Mentor team members to grow their skills and careers.
• Experience working with clients in retail or food service industries.
• Manage teams with offshore or distributed models.
