A leading investment management company in Mexico City seeks a Tax Manager to handle tax strategies and compliance related to real estate investments. This role requires strong expertise in tax management, particularly within the hotel and hospitality sectors, along with a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Ideal candidates will possess bilingual fluency and advanced proficiency in accounting software, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

  • Solid experience in tax management and familiarity with audit or accounting firms.
  • Deep understanding of tax laws and regulations related to real estate.
  • Bilingual fluency required (English and Spanish).

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and execute tax-efficient strategies for the group.
  • Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
  • Represent the group during tax examinations and discussions with regulators.

About our client

Our client is an investment management company focused on lodging real estate investments in Mexico with properties in the broader Caribbean region. The company is sponsored by a private equity manager committed to building best-in-class real estate platforms in Mexico of industrial, retail, residential, hotel, and multifamily properties. The position is based in Mexico City. What the job involves
  • Develop and execute tax-efficient strategies for the group in close collaboration with hotel tax consultants
  • Provide guidance on the tax implications in different business choices and transactions
  • Help the group to reduce tax obligations while adhering to tax regulations
  • Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings for the group
  • Guarantee prompt and precise submission of all necessary tax paperwork
  • Prepare requests for VAT refunds until collection
  • Remain updated on modifications in tax legislation and regulations to evaluate their effects on the group
  • Offer specialist guidance on various tax-related issues, such as income tax, corporate tax, VAT, and international tax regulations
  • Represent the group's entities during tax examinations and conflicts with regulators or authorities
  • Gather the required paperwork and discuss agreements with tax officials
  • Detailed deferred tax computations for the Group's entities
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and changes in tax laws
Who we are looking for
  • Solid experience in tax management, including work with an established audit and/or accounting firm and/or real estate/ hospitality private equity or hotel management company
  • Hotel experience strongly recommended
  • Deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, mainly in trusts and complex tax structures in the real estate sector
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Graduate studies in a Fiscal field are a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP software systems such as MRI, SAP, etc
  • Bilingual fluency required
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and analytical and reasoning skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform high-quality work on deadline
  • Willingness to travel
