Here’s the Deal:
We are seeking a highly experienced Tax Manager with deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance, tax provisions, and international tax reporting. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment, driving compliance and strategic planning across key regions. You’ll work on complex tax matters, contribute to M&A activity, advise stakeholders, and continuously improve tax-related processes—all while helping shape the future of global tax at Maersk.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare separate and consolidated corporate income tax returns for federal and state jurisdictions
Prepare partnership federal and state tax returns and associated documentation
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions, including rate reconciliations and variance analysis
Support tax implications of acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings
Conduct technical research in complex tax areas and provide detailed documentation
Manage and calculate U.S. international tax reporting items (FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, BEAT, 163(j), etc.)
Lead risk and control initiatives— establishing frameworks and continuously improving processes
Monitor and interpret new tax legislation, evaluating impacts on tax rate, cash flow, and disclosures
Partner with internal teams on cross-border financing, M&A, and other strategic projects to optimize tax outcomes
Ensure FATCA compliance and maintain W-8/W-9 forms for all relevant entities
Provide support during IRS and state /city tax audits
The Basics:
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred)
Years of Experience: 7 to 10 years in U.S. federal and state income/franchise or Mexican taxation
Tools: Experience with Corptax preferred
Technical Skills:
Intermediate understanding of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes)
Experience with international tax provisions
Industry Experience: Shipping/transportation industry experience is a plus
Language: English level B2 or above (advanced functionality)
