NXP Semiconductors in Guadalajara, Mexico is seeking a System Applications Engineer to support application specific microprocessors. You will work with customers, the IC design team and systems teams to enable MCUs through firmware development, demos, and reference designs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS, strong C programming skills, ARM Cortex MCU experience, RTOS knowledge, and embedded debugging tools.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or similar.
  • Proficient in C programming and embedded systems development.

Responsabilidades

  • Firmware development for application specific microprocessors.
  • Demos and reference design creation to enable for emerging markets.
  • Firmware customization to enable large customers to use NXP technology.
  • Collaborate with marketing/sales to define next-gen products.
  • Participate in product enhancements and New Product Introduction processes.
  • Provide training to customers and sales teams promoting NXP technology adoption.

Department Description Be part of the Microcontroller Systems Engineering Team based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Responsible for enabling/support connectivity and application specific microcontrollers.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Working as a system applications engineer, your primary role is to provide efficient support for application specific microprocessors in tight collaboration with the customers, partners, worldwide IC design team and other systems teams for customer applications support.

  • Firmware development
  • Demos & reference design creation to enable for emerging markets
  • Firmware customization to enable large customers to use NXP technology
  • Work with the marketing/sales teams to define next gen products
  • Participate on NXP product enhancement (New product introduction Process)
  • Provide training to customers and sales teams promoting NXP technology adoption
Specific Knowledge/Skills

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering /Computer Science or Similar.

Experience and proficiency in the following areas desirable:

  • Highly proficient in the C programming language
  • Experience with embedded Systems on Chip, especially the ARM Cortex architecture.
  • Experience using embedded software programming & debugging tools
  • Technical writing skills for creating application notes, white papers, and user’s guides / reference manuals.
  • Other programming languages (Phyton, C++,..)
  • RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Azure, Zephyr, QNX) is desirable

Embedded software development and debug experience including one of more of the following:

  • Operating systems, device drivers, connectivity stacks (BLE, Thread, 802.15.4, Zigbee, WiFi)
  • SOC design, architecture, validation, and application teams to write and develop design specifications for PCB reference design and validation board hardware for new SoCs.
