GlobalLogic is seeking a Sr. Software Design Engineer (Automotive) in Guadalajara to design, develop, test, and document embedded software for instrument clusters and HUD systems. You will mentor peers, ensure coding guideline adherence, and work with customers across multicultural teams at client sites.

The role requires a strong background in embedded automotive software, CAN, CANoe, and Vector tools, with 3–5 years of relevant experience and a degree in engineering or computer science.

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Completion of coursework in Embedded Programming, Embedded Controls and/or Embedded System Design.

Responsabilidades

• Drive upstream activities of the software development V-model, including requirements definition, system design, and verification plan.
• Communicate closely with customers, manage Q&A, and support troubleshooting activities to resolve issues efficiently.
• Capture customer requirements for specific programs by reviewing documentation and engaging with related teams.
• Analyze and document both customer and internal requirements and develop internal functional specifications.
• Lead requirements analysis and create specification documents, ensuring clarity and traceability.
• Manage and execute various configuration activities, including version control and change management.
• Perform bench testing and vehicle testing at the customer site.
• Report issues identified by testing and collaborate with the software design team to resolve them.
• Manage and execute various configuration documents of development process

Purpose of the Job:

The Software Design Engineer III is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and documenting software code for use in embedded microcontroller- based automotive instrument cluster and HUD systems. The position must also follow coding guidelines and standards. Also, this position mentors other engineers and requires a strong technical background in order to perform engineering calculations and solve design problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with a minimum 7 years of experience, or
• Master’s degree in computer science or engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Completion of coursework in Embedded Programming, Embedded Controls and/or Embedded System Design.

• Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with customers and multi-cultural teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear, concise manner.
• Knowledge of industry-standard software development processes, as well as the software development life cycle.
• Experience in CANoe Panel use, CAPL code update experience and Vector tools management.
• High-speed CAN experience a must, FD-CAN and Automotive Ethernet (a plus)
• MS Macro creation and maintenance, Microsoft VB (in excel cording experience)

Job responsibilities

• Capture customer requirements for specific programs by reviewing documentation and actively engaging with related teams.
• Analyze and document both customer and NSI internal requirements and develop internal functional specifications for NSI software.
• Lead requirements analysis and the creation of specification documents, ensuring clarity and traceability.
• Manage and execute various configuration activities, including version control, change management, and configuration tracking.
• Perform bench testing and vehicle testing at the customer site
• Report issues identified by testing to the software design team for corrective action and collaborate with the software design team to resolve the issue.
• Manage and execute various configuration documents of development process
