Responsibilities
- Manages the weekly Supply Planning activity for assigned brands, creating a long-range master schedule that optimizes supply chain resources while delivering superior customer service and supporting the achievement of sales targets. Collaborates with Demand Planning to convert forecast into production and inventory requirements for internal and external suppliers.
- Operates with an integrated planning mindset and collaborates with demand planning, marketing and sales to develop scenario planning tools to proactively address supply risk. Manages the inventory strategy for assigned brands, maintains safety stock parameters, and drives continuous improvement strategies to optimize stock levels across the network.
- Performs analysis on statistical safety stock levels, portfolio segmentation, lead time reduction initiatives, and partners with supply centers on material buffering tactics.
- Proactively partners with end-to-end supply chain to manage inventory obsolescence by monitoring inventory depletion on transitioning materials and exploring alternate channel opportunities for stranded excess finished goods. Acts as the communication focal point for all supply-related topics within Supply Chain Management as they relate to customer service, inventory performance and waste.
- Provides planning oversight and guidance to project initiatives, including New Product Introductions, Packaging Change Implementations (artwork updates, count-size changes, etc.), formulation changes, product discontinuations, and manufacturing site transfers. Manages all repackaging activities through 3rd party co-packers (multipacks, bonus packs, IRC programs, customer-specific UPCs, and other product customization).
- Provides direction and support to all levels of the supply chain, maintains relevant SAP master data, attends and actively participates in S&OP business meetings, serves on project teams for new product launches, and ensures launch timing and quantities are available per project plan. Prepares supply chain reports and updates on supply status; prepares monthly reports on supply chain performance against key metrics.
- Manages relationships with supply centers and drives strategic initiatives to improve service reliability and optimize cost and inventory. Works closely with customer service and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock deployment strategies and effective delivery of case fill to customers.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a technical discipline with 7 years of supply chain experience.
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a technical discipline with 5 years of supply chain experience is preferred.
- Experience in consumer products, pharmaceutical or ISO-regulated industry.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles such as production planning, purchasing, forecasting and logistics is preferred.
- Demonstrated target- and performance-driven attitude with a successful track record leading projects and teams is desired.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management with internal and external partners/customers.
- APICS certification is preferred; Green Belt or knowledge of lean/Six Sigma methodology is preferred.
- Strong SAP skills are preferred.
