A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of electrical systems, evaluating suppliers, and driving process improvements. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and possess strong English skills. The position requires on-site work, a Monday to Friday schedule, with potential travel up to 30%. Role Definition

As part of the EXSM team, the Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) will focus on Electric, Electronics, Wiring Harness & Cables, Engine Installation & Cooling, and Cab Component categories, ensuring supplier quality, compliance with technical and regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement. This role supports localization strategies in North America and enhances supplier performance to strengthen operational excellence and competitiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality and reliability of electrical systems, electronic components, engine installation and cooling parts, and cab components through rigorous inspections, testing, and validation processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics (e.g., defect rates, delivery quality) and generate actionable reports; guide suppliers in reducing defects and improving consistency.
  • Research, evaluate, and audit potential suppliers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement through process optimization, implementation of quality controls, and advanced quality assurance planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to develop new sources and support the introduction of innovative products aligned with business localization and technology strategies.
Degree Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication) is required.

  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Ensures robust PPAP execution by supporting implementation for new components and systems, meeting internal standards and customer requirements, completing all required approval elements, and researching best practices to apply PPAP effectively across diverse component categories.
  • Supplier Evaluation & Certification: Evaluates suppliers comprehensively by conducting structured assessments, participating in selection and certification activities, documenting audit and reference‑check findings, and verifying supplier reputation and capabilities through multiple independent sources.
Additional Information

On‑site work based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday.

Travel Requirement: Availability to travel up to 30% of the time. International and domestic travel.
