Convatec is seeking a quality inspector to ensure conformity to standards and processing requirements across purchased parts and materials. You will use measuring devices to verify identities and dimensions, review inspection reports, and make pass/fail decisions with rigorous record-keeping.

The role offers limited supervision with potential to lead daily operations, train staff, and handle non-routine challenges. Advanced knowledge from extensive experience or vocational education is required.

Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using measuring devices such as automated inspection equipment and/or micrometers, gauges, and calipers. Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. Verifies specifications using purchase orders, blueprints, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists. Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods. Maintains records of results. Inspections may involve compound angles or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, telescope gauges, and optical comparators. Reviews and approves inspection reports against technical requirements. Requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education.

• Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations.
• Training, delegating and reviewing the work of lower level employees.
• Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
