Overview

The ideal candidate will reside in/near Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua

This position is responsible for quality process and adherence for the Business Units in Mexico. The responsibilities may incorporate manufacturing quality and inventory quality review, warehousing requirements and vetting new facilities, quality claim investigation, and working with Mexico and US resources to ensure product quality best practices are adhered to under a cost-effective approach.

Responsibilities

30% Quality Control Auditing

  • Conduct regular audits to check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process and finished goods, to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. This applies for Winfield sites as well as 3rd party vendors.
  • Monitor the performance of equipment, processes and 3rd party manufacture; identify, troubleshoot and resolve scheduling problems involving the related parties in order to maintain efficient operations.
  • Ensure our manufacturing & warehousing operations as well as facilities meet regulatory & quality requirements for all the inventory per product line grouping.
  • Audit seed quality attributes on imports with International and Mexico testing results and coordinate sample testing.

30% Quality Claim Investigation

  • Monitor quality claims KPI performance and identify trends.
  • Liaise with sales reps and management to address customer claims about products.
  • Investigate quality concerns and identify root cause issues to identify corrective and preventative actions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to implement short-term and long-term solutions.
  • Prepare activity and progress reports so recurring claims/problems either with the quality of the product or the reliability of the testing procedures, can be identified and addressed.

20% Quality Control Standards & Regulatory

  • Liaise & co-work with corporate quality assurance partners to define and adopt the adequate quality standard for Mexico operation as well as with local leadership to address the needs and scope.
  • Co-work with regulatory department to adhere manufacturing & warehousing operations to be compliant with product registrations, legal permits, labeling, packing, storing, handling, transporting and disposing products.
  • Develop and maintain quality control manuals, procedures, and documentation for new and existing products and processes
  • Provide training on quality control procedures and best practices for manufacturing & warehousing personnel as well as for supervisors
  • Understand new changes in regulatory and customer requirements for products to develop and implement actions plans to mitigate risk or quality assurance deviations.

20% Vendor and Warehouse Assessments

  • Assist in assessing potential vendor and warehousing options based on product quality and regulatory compliance needs.
  • Develop guidelines and requirements to share with these potential partners to meet our quality standards.
Education and qualifications
  • 4-year degree or higher - required
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English - required
  • 4 or more years of increasing responsibility in quality and/or supply chain roles within Mexico - required
  • Quality supervisor experience - preferred
  • Experience with regulatory requirements in manufacturing environment - required
  • Experience with one or a combination of agriculture products and supply chain processes - preferred
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - required
  • Ability to travel over 30% of time - required
