Job summary

Emerson in Mexico is seeking an experienced Equipment Buyer to drive cost reduction and optimize supplier performance. The role focuses on developing procurement strategies, managing orders with accurate terms, and ensuring timely delivery to support IDM and other departments.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of buying experience for equipment, machinery, and inputs, plus a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and fluent English (B2). Travel internationally (USA visa) is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work experience as an equipment, machinery, and inputs buyer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, International Business or Engineering required.
• Fluid English (B2) required.
• Ability to travel internationally (USA visa) required.

Responsibilities

• Pursuing continuous improvements in cost, lead time, quality, commercial terms and logistics costs.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies focused on cost reduction, supply base optimization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring all terms and specs are documented to support procurement activities.
• Proactively monitor purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries and availability of materials for IDM warehouse and other departments.
• Maintain and control procurement systems to ensure KPIs and SLs compliance.
• Proficient in MS Office.
