Job summary

GPV in Mexico seeks a Purchasing Engineer to manage direct material purchasing, ensuring economical sourcing and on-time delivery. You will process orders per MRP, confirm supplier receipts, and monitor deviations with QC and warehouse to support uninterrupted production. The role requires ERP experience, advanced Excel skills, and fluent English for cross-functional collaboration. You will also work with program managers and planners on shortages, maintaining accurate material data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of supplier management, cost analysis, price negotiations, and contract management.
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
• Knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, and MRP.
• Ability to analyze market trends, supply risks, and cost reduction opportunities.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams involving Engineering, Planning, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee direct material purchasing to minimize cost while ensuring on-time delivery.
• Process orders per MRP and confirm receipt by suppliers.
• Follow up and evaluate order confirmations.
• Manage deviations in delivery times, quantities, and prices with QC and warehouse.
• Interface with suppliers daily to maintain material supply for production.
• Collaborate with program managers and planners on shortage solutions.
• Maintain material data such as price and lead times in the system.
• Follow supervisor and manager instructions.
