Job summary

Empresaconfidencial, based in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead direct material procurement, ensuring supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and continuity of supply. You will align with Finance, Engineering and Operations to drive strategic sourcing and improvement initiatives.

You will manage supplier relationships, analyze costs, negotiate contracts, and lead a purchasing team to deliver value and mitigate risks across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• MBA preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with domestic and international suppliers to support operational requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics.
• Identify and resolve material shortages while ensuring supply chain continuity.
• Support procurement teams in meeting material requirements and operational objectives.
• Monitor and maintain purchase orders and procurement-related data within ERP systems.
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies through cost analysis, market intelligence, and supplier engagement.
• Lead operational purchasing projects, including supplier contracts, standard cost initiatives, and online bidding processes.
• Drive cost reduction, value analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct supplier business reviews and establish action plans to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks and prevent future material shortages.
• Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Operations teams to support business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to strengthen negotiation, analytical, and supplier management capabilities.
