Job summary

Lennox is seeking a procurement professional to select approved vendors and negotiate terms, placing purchase orders to satisfy product requirements across departments.

The role requires evaluating bids, expediting orders, and negotiating settlements with suppliers. You will support lean manufacturing initiatives, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and cost targets while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development.
• Strong negotiation abilities and above average, analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
• Proficient in computerized procurement systems.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Typically reviews important bids with supervisor before placing orders.
• Expedites the orders by suppliers to meet production.
• Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage, claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
• May conduct supplier site visits, and rate them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
