Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Puebla, Mexico seeks a Global Strategic Buyer IT/OT to shape sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to optimize costs and enable supply continuity.

The role focuses on standardization, process improvement, and governance across global operations, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in strategic procurement within complex international and matrix organizations.
• Strong expertise in sourcing, supplier management, tendering, contract negotiations, and procurement strategy development.
• Experience negotiating software licenses, hardware agreements, IT services, and consulting contracts.
• Ability to analyze spend, market intelligence, and business requirements to develop effective sourcing strategies.
• Experience working with procurement and ERP systems such as SAP and Ariba.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for IT/OT categories, aligning procurement activities with business priorities and technology roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and relationship management to drive value, innovation, and supply continuity.
• Partner closely with IT/OT leadership, vendor management teams, and business stakeholders to understand demand, shape sourcing decisions, and support digital transformation initiatives.
• Drive cost optimization, total cost of ownership improvements, and sustainable savings programs across assigned spend categories.
• Lead global, cross-functional projects focused on standardization, automation, process improvement, and procurement excellence.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and governance frameworks to ensure quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Champion procurement process transformation, change management, and best practices across global operations.

What we are looking for:

• Strong expertise in sourcing, supplier management, tendering, contract negotiations, and procurement strategy development.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating software licenses, hardware agreements, IT services, and consulting contracts.
• Ability to analyze spend, market intelligence, and business requirements to develop effective sourcing strategies and deliver measurable value.
• Experience working with procurement and ERP systems such as SAP and Ariba.
• Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across global teams and senior leadership.
• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, Legal Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience delivering successful procurement outcomes.
