Jabil in Chihuahua, Mexico is hiring a Buyer to help source materials, negotiate favorable terms, and manage supplier relationships for our manufacturing operations.

You will issue purchase orders, track deliveries, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and monitor stock to optimize costs while ensuring on-time supply and compliance with quality standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Admin, or related field.
• 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.

The Buyer at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for procuring materials, components, and services necessary for the company's manufacturing operations, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the efficiency and profitability of our supply chain.

Job Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and cost savings.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse supplier base, evaluating their performance and capabilities.
• Issue purchase orders, track order status, and expedite deliveries as needed to meet production schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while minimizing obsolescence.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including shortages, quality issues, and price fluctuations.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and new technologies to inform purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Jabil's purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
• Resolve discrepancies with suppliers regarding invoices, shipments, and quality issues.
• Participate in supplier audits and performance reviews.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of global sourcing and logistics preferred.
• CPIM, CSCP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
