Kohler Co. in Juárez, Mexico is seeking a Staff Engineer (Finishing Process) to lead plating and PVD finishing operations at the SFO facility. The role directs flow of materials, equipment operation, and development of process documentation and routings.

You will develop new processes, assist cost estimates for the NPM group, and collaborate with supplier networks to launch products globally. Requires a BS ABET with 5+ years in plating/PVD; advanced degree preferred.

• Bachelor of Science Degree (ABET) with a minimum of 5 years in plating and PVD finishing operations.
• Background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Metallurgy or related field.
• Advanced engineering degree with coursework in PVD/Thin Film Systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

Staff Engineer-Manufacturing Plating

Work Mode: Onsite, Juarez Nuevo León

BASIC FUNCTION

• 1. The Staff Engineer (Finishing Process) will have technical responsibility for the manufacturing processes for Plating and PVD finishing at the Sanimex Faucet Operation (SFO). The Plating and PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) Engineer will be responsible for the Plating and PVD operation at SFO. The Finishing Engineer will have input and responsibility in the selection, implementation, of procedures and processes to maintain appropriate and cost-effective manufacturing processes for Plating and PVD finishing. The Finishing Engineer must be able to detect and be able to diagnose equipment/process problems.
• 2. Direct major capital projects and equipment purchase for capacity and strategic purposes at SFO.
• 3. Support corporate activities regarding the international growth of the Global Faucets Operations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. The Staff Engineer (Finishing Process) will have technical responsibility to direct the flow of material and operation of all equipment associated with the Plating and PVD process.
• 2. The Finishing Engineer must be able to detect and be able to diagnose equipment and process problems. An understanding of previous operations and subsequent operations is necessary.
• 3. Development of detailed process specifications and routings for manufacturing.
• 4. The Finishing Engineer is responsible for development of all necessary process documentation and training.
• 5. Initiate investigation and testing of new processes or process changes to improve costs, quality, and productivity.
• 6. Assist with providing cost estimates to the New Product Manufacturing Engineering group.
• 7. Work with the Kohler supplier network within or outside USA.
• 8. Support New Product Development group in launching new products, by providing technical assessment of potential problems and the designing of tooling.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree (ABET) with a minimum of 5 years in applicable Plating and PVD related finishing operation experience. A background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Metallurgy or related field required. Advanced engineering degree with coursework in PVD / Thin Film Systems preferred.
