Job summary

Mvl Group is seeking a seasoned Construction Safety Lead to relocate to the Diego Garcia Islands to oversee safety programs on remote military base projects. The role focuses on implementing APP/AHA, enforcing EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards, and liaising with NAVFAC and base inspectors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety, with DoD project experience and a background in safety documentation, training, and incident management in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience (preferably in remote military base projects).
• Experience on NAVFAC, USACE, or DoD projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce the project's Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA).
• Monitor and ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and Diego Garcia base regulations.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Attend preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings related to work activities.
• Maintain all safety logs, reports, training records, incident reports, and documentation required by the contracting authority.
• Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific training for workers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with NAVFAC representatives, base safety officers, and government inspectors.
