Pyramid Consulting, Inc. seeks an experienced Application SRE/DevOps specialist to own reliability at the application layer during a cloud migration. You’ll define SLOs, implement observability, and collaborate with security and delivery engineering to ensure resilient deployments.

The role focuses on failover, performance baselines, and go/no-go validation across Sandbox/Prod environments, with hybrid work in Guadalajara.

FOCUS

Application SRE, DevOps, and Reliability Evaluation during Cloud Migration – Application Layer Only

This role owns reliability at the application layer: how services behave under load, how they're deployed, and how they hold up as they move through cloud migration. It sits alongside – not inside – the existing infrastructure SRE function.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Application Reliability & Observability

• SLI/SLO definition and error budget management
• APM / observability instrumentation and alert design (Dynatrace or equivalent)
• Application-tier incident response, root cause analysis, blameless postmortems
• Load, failover, and resilience testing methodology
• Reliability patterns: circuit breakers, retries, timeouts, graceful degradation

DevOps & Delivery Engineering

• CI/CD pipeline design and hardening (Azure DevOps or equivalent), including rollback safety
• Infrastructure-as-code and environment reproducibility across Sandbox/NonProd/Prod
• GitOps / version-controlled deployment workflows
• Hands-on with at least two of Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI (Azure/AWS priority)
• Application architecture assessment for migration readiness – dependency mapping, single-point-of-failure identification
• Pre- and post-migration reliability validation and go/no-go sign-off
• Performance baselining and capacity planning across environments

Automation & Scripting

• Python and/or Bash for tooling, automation, and diagnostics
• PowerShell for Windows-based application environments
• REST API integration for pipeline and observability tooling

Security, Compliance & Governance Awareness

• DevSecOps practices – security scanning integrated into CI/CD
• Working knowledge of IAM/least-privilege principles as applied to application service accounts
• Comfortable operating in a SOX-audited environment; documentation and audit-trail discipline
• Coordination with CRE/security on Infrastructure Cloud Operations and vulnerability remediation affecting application workloads

BASELINE EXPECTATIONS

• 8+ years in cloud engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles, with 3+ years at senior/architect level
• Certifications a plus: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator
• Strong stakeholder communication – works directly with application owners without overstepping ownership boundaries
• Delivery experience with demonstrated ability to work independently across time zones
