Job summary

Garrett - Advancing Motion in Mexicali seeks a Manufacturing Engineering leader to oversee multiple technologies and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and AOP-based growth plans. You will supervise engineers, technicians and interns, lead Kaizen events, and ensure efficient layout and material flow within production cells.

Responsibilities include implementing lean tools, coordinating CAPEX/OPEX projects, and aligning with global KPIs and HSE initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering.
• Equivalent experience in manufacturing processes, lean principles, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical principles.
• 5 years minimum experience in Manufacturing Engineering / management.
• Experience with Kaizen processes for a line and significant indicator improvements.
• Experience with plant-wide projects like layout changes, new machinery or line upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Oversee manufacturing processes across Balancing, Assembly, Machining and Welding.
• Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies based on AOP and growth projections.
• Supervise Manufacturing Engineers, technicians and interns.
• Lead Kaizen events and knowledge sharing for continuous improvement.
• Ensure correct layout design and material flow for production cells.
• Apply lean principles and Six Sigma tools (one-piece flow, takt time, line balancing, standard work).
• Follow up CAPEX and OPEX projects (plant and global).
• Coordinate handover from NPI.
• Monitor internal capacity and support manufacturing strategy.
• Adhere to HSE procedures and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Global team on KPIs and improvement projects.
• Manage external equipment validation (travel to supplier facilities).

Responsible for Overall Efficiency Equipment, and Rolled Throughput Yield improvement thru planning and execution of improvement strategies and execution
