Your JobThe Sr Tax Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting the Tax Senior Manager in managing tax matters associated with the activities of multiple Koch affiliates operating within Mexico.
Our TeamKoch Shared Services Mexico, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., is seeking to hire a Tax Senior Analyst located in
Guadalajara or Mexico City.
What You Will Do- Assist the Tax Senior Manager with local Mexican tax compliance processes (income tax & VAT) with both internal resources and external tax advisors.
- Assist with management and oversight of transfer pricing compliance requirements, including DIM – Appendix 9 and Local File.
- Collaborate on statutory filings, gathering supportive data and building defense files for audits.
- Support filings such as ISSIF (filed with tax return) or Dictamen Fiscal (if necessary).
- Provide local tax technical expertise and analysis to support business operations.
- Ensure proper records and processes are in place for tax audits, focusing on high-risk areas.
- Develop relationships with local finance directors, controllers, management, and leverage local capabilities to understand current and future operations.
- Identify and communicate potential value-added opportunities to Koch tax and business teams.
- Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Review tax accounting records for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Assist in innovation and transformation initiatives for Mexican tax compliance processes (income tax & VAT).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Approximately 5+ years of Mexican tax experience, focusing on income tax and VAT compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Law, or Finance.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with effective management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Team-player capable of building relationships and motivating others.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
What Will Put You Ahead- Experience in a Big 4 firm and/or U.S. Fortune 500 multinational corporation preferred.
- Master’s degree in taxation is preferred.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing rules and regulations.
- Experience with CIT deductibility rules and best practices.
- Tax accounting knowledge.
- Data and systems experience, especially with an eye toward innovation and process improvement.
- Experience with IMMEX program requirements and maquiladora operations is a plus.
