The Role

We are seeking thought leaders passionate about helping customers solve their business challenges. As a Senior Solution Consultant, you will partner with AspenTech sales teams during the sales cycle to lead consultative discovery with customers, craft solutions that meet their requirements, and develop implementation and sustainment plans. This role requires a strong understanding of AspenTech’s product strategy, value enablers, professional services, partner capabilities, and sales pipeline to identify opportunities where AspenTech solutions can deliver significant business value.

This position focuses on our generic dynamic optimization solution (Aspen GDOT). You will understand customer challenges, support the development of a vision and roadmap for Aspen GDOT implementation, create business cases, develop proposals, and support the sales process with your technical expertise.

Your Impact
  • Develop industry and application-specific solutions for clients, leading value discovery sessions and assessing needs.
  • Identify and understand critical business issues to present AspenTech’s capabilities as the optimal solution.
  • Build client-specific solutions using AspenTech’s platform and tools.
  • Create recommendations, proposals, and scope of work documents for consulting engagements, identifying dependencies and gaps.
  • Advise customers on relevant AspenTech solutions, establishing a credible value proposition.
  • Develop and execute sales campaigns in collaboration with sales teams.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, understanding technical challenges and developing solutions.
  • Support pipeline development and sales execution through marketing, account planning, and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Need
  • Chemical engineering degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with process models for refining units, including refining simulation or optimization experience.
  • Experience with refining, planning, or real-time optimization, or APC systems like DMCplus/DMC3.
  • Strong understanding of refining economics, work processes, and client interactions.
  • Desirable experience in consulting, pre-sales, or professional services roles.
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions and their business value.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
