You will work in an agile team environment, leveraging your skills in Python, JavaScript, and AWS, and help shape innovative solutions that prioritize safety and customer satisfaction. This full-time role is based remotely in Mexico but may involve occasional office visits.

AlertMedia is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with full-stack experience and hands-on Elixir experience. This role is an opportunity to use a wide variety of design and technical web skills to help us manage day-to-day requests as well as leverage your experience while gaining new experience from the team. You must have a passion for innovative software development and willingness to roll up your sleeves to collaborate with all teams. You will have the opportunity to show who you are throughout our interview process, we don’t ask any trick questions, or expect you to perform a whiteboard exercise. Who you are:

You thrive in a collaborative engineering environment that plays to everyone's strengths with a willingness to work across the entire stack. Ideally, you have Python & JavaScript experience, but more importantly, you care about the quality of your work, the impactful product you help build, and the team you help build it with. You have AWS experience and are willing to learn from people with both more and less experience than you.

What you will do:

• Learn the AlertMedia platform and tools, and its uses for our customers
• Work with Python, JavaScript, Elixir and other web technologies to deliver leading software solutions in the mass communications space
• Work in an Agile based environment using tools like Git, JIRA, CircleCI, and Slack
• Contribute to the technology lead that AlertMedia has over other solutions through innovative development and by helping contribute new ideas related to leveraging technology in our product line
• Use strong verbal and written communication skills in collaboration with other engineering and product teams
• Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values and vision for the future

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred
• 6-8 years of experience building scalable applications with modern frameworks. Python, JavaScript, Django, React, Elixir experience a plus
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS or other cloud experience a must)
• Postgres & Redis development experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel
• The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
• English proficiency (written and oral) is required
• This is a full time, remote position based in Mexico and candidate must reside in Mexico. We have offices in the Reforma area of Mexico City if you'd like to work in office on occasion.
