What you will do:
- Develop and improve SMT processes, including the selection of appropriate materials, equipment, and tools.
- Configure and adjust pick and place machines, reflow ovens, paste printers, and other SMT equipment.
- Ensure product specifications are met, guaranteeing assembly integrity and reliability.
- Implement and execute visual and automatic inspection procedures (AOI, SPI) to verify component and solder quality.
- Analyze common defects and lead to the implementation of corrective and preventive solutions.
- Ensure functional test requirements are met and make adjustments based on the results.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT equipment, ensuring proper operation and reducing downtime.
- Propose and implement improvements to the machinery and tools used in the process.
- Maintain detailed records of processes, parameter changes, and test results.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental regulations in the production process.
- Develop manufacturing process documentation defining the operation of the PCBA equipment.
- Train operators to standard work and manufacturing process documentation.
- Design and procurement of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing PCBAs.
- Work closely with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Participate in design reviews (DFM - Design for Manufacturing) to ensure designs are optimal for SMT manufacturing.
Qualifications you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Aerospace) or related field.
- 5+ years of previous experience in SMT processes and electronic manufacturing.
- Proficient Conversational and written English required, needs to be able to efficiently communicate with corporate leaders both in person and in reports/via email.
- In-depth knowledge of SMT equipment and technologies, such as pick and place, reflow ovens, paste printers, and automatic inspection equipment (AOI, SPI).
- Knowledge of electronic design software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, Cadence, etc.).
- Knowledge of IPC and RoHS regulations and electronics quality processes.
- Visa and travel availability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing quality control systems (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Data analysis and statistical skills applied to electronic manufacturing.
- Experience in new equipment implementation or equipment transfer.
- Preferred experience in production line set up.
- Preferred experience in product transfer.
- Ability to solve technical problems and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
