Yanfeng in Saltillo, Mexico is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure plant procedures align with customer quality expectations. You will act as the primary contact for operations on critical issues and monitor key quality metrics to drive improvements.

The role requires 3–5 years of automotive quality experience, knowledge of IOS and IATF 16949, and willingness to travel to customer sites; you will lead problem-solving efforts and coordinate with production teams to maintain product conformance.

Formación

The Quality Engineer ensures that plant procedures are properly implemented and that the quality expectations of both internal and external customers are met. The Quality Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for operations in response to critical customer issues and is responsible for monitoring key quality metrics and customer-specific initiatives to meet customer expectations.

Essential Functions

• Keep plant personnel informed of quality-related issues and promote quality awareness throughout all manufacturing facilities.
• Coordinate with production team leaders and supervisors to ensure that products are manufactured according to established product specifications.
• Monitor key quality metrics on a daily basis and define action plans for improvement, including IPPM, IRPPM, scrap, and other quality indicators.
• Participate in advanced quality planning activities, including the creation and review of Control Plans, FMEAs, operator instructions, quality assurance procedures, laboratory procedures, PPAPs, and product/component validation testing.
• Participate with the Plant IOS Coordinator in the successful implementation of applicable world-class quality systems in accordance with IOS, IATF 16949, and other applicable standards.
• Utilize and promote problem-solving tools and methodologies, including 8D reports, problem-solving methods, and KT, and support the validation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate quality auditor and quality inspector activities, including training and follow-up.
• Respond promptly to customer 8D requirements through the appropriate customer system, such as GQTS.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
• For GM customers, monitor Sourceability and Six Panel reports daily and communicate special status updates to management, including BIQ revocation, NBH, CS2, and PRRs in the applicable system.

Additional Responsibilities

• Monitor expenses related to external containment, resident personnel, and RMAs/RTVs.
• Report any expenses incurred as a result of poor quality.

Education

• Engineering or related bachelor's degree preferred.
• Equivalent work experience may be considered for certain positions.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quality processes or related quality functions.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing facilities that may require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
