MKS Instruments, Inc. in Mexico is seeking a procurement professional to lead sourcing activities in the purchasing function. You will plan and implement material procurement, supervise buyers and expediters, and ensure purchases align with budget and schedule. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, CPIM or APICS certification, and 3+ years of related experience. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to optimize inventories and supplier performance.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:This position will be reporting to the Purchasing ManagerPrincipal Responsibilities:• Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment• Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives• Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount• May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts• Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities• Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts• Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels• May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functionRequired Skills:• Bachelor’s degree required• CPIM and/or APICS certification required• 3+ years of related experiencePhysical Demands & Working Conditions:• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time• Ability to remain in a stationary position for [INSERT]% of the time• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand• Must be able to exchange accurate information• Operates in a [professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing] environment• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery• Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Globally, our policy is to recruit individuals from wide and diverse backgrounds.
