SR. Project Engineer

Location: Juarez, N.L. / Onsite

Opportunity: Kohler Sanimex

Basic Function

Under the supervision of the General Supervisor - Casting & Molds, Plant II, this position is responsible for providing engineering support to production areas, identifying and improving areas of opportunity in production processes or products. The role involves developing and maintaining project-engineering programs consistent with sound engineering practices, KOS principles, and company policies to ensure continuous operation and achievement of production and cost objectives.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide engineering assistance for daily production, quality control, problem solving, cost reduction, and meeting delivery schedules.
2. Oversee production processes and suggest changes in working methods or operation sequences to ensure adequate operation and improve efficiency.
3. Support the maintenance department in maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing processes, tools, and dies.
4. Develop and maintain control over labor standards in complex operations.
5. Assist in providing training to associates and offer technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
6. Monitor and track various plant metrics.
7. Assist in the implementation of the Kohler Operating System (KOS).
8. Develop quality projects using Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce costs and improve results.
9. Support teamwork to follow up on established methods after project implementation.

Specific Authorities

Promote continuous improvements in safety, quality, and cost in plant operations.

Relationships and Contacts

Supervisory Relationships: Report to the General Supervisor, with a dotted line to Supt-Pottery, Monterrey Plant I.

Organization Relationships: Frequent contact with Quality and Production departments, Foremen, and General Supervisors. Collaboration with support areas such as the Excellence Team and Vitreous Support teams.

External Business Relationships: Moderate contact with tooling and machine vendors.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education: Preference for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Experience: Preference for a minimum of 2 to 4 years in a manufacturing operation employing lean systems.

Additional Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based software; bilingual skills are preferred.
