In our plant located in Ciénega de Flores, N.L., we are seeking a Sr. Program Engineer to help us grow.

Internal Job Summary

Plan, monitor, and implement Yanfeng PRP Programs and objectives. Interface with all levels of internal and customer management on planning, scheduling, organizing, directing, and controlling the program. Lead cross-functional project teams.

Internal Essential Functions and Specific Requirements

Main Responsibilities

  1. Leadership: Represent the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) professionally to the customer and Yanfeng management. Motivate the team to meet commitments and established timelines. Build team skills through mentoring and coaching. Resolve conflicts and negotiate with internal/external groups, vendors, and customers. Identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and lead teams to resolution.
  2. SDT Management: Act as the communication hub for the SDT, ensuring awareness of deliverables, timing, and commitments. Train and coach the SDT in YFAI Product Launch processes. Manage the SDT to meet timing, cost, manufacturing, quality, and budget targets. Establish meeting schedules, create agendas, and monitor attendance. Include suppliers as team members.
  3. Scope Management: Communicate scope change impacts to the customer and SDT in terms of cost, timing, and quality. Manage scope changes and ensure documentation. Use the scope change approval process and differentiate from engineering changes. Manage risk and inform management of changes and impacts. Protect and enhance financial performance through scope management.
  4. Planning (0-0-0-100-90): Achieve zero recordable accidents, reject parts, delivery misses, and meet 100% of financial commitments at 90 days post-launch. Develop mitigation strategies for risks. Manage engineering change implementation plans. Coordinate with suppliers for launch readiness. Support pre-production and follow up on material readiness. Maintain scope changes within one year of launch.
  5. Financial Management: Schedule monthly finance SDT meetings from development to post-launch. Meet financial targets and manage roadmap, action, and costs. Collaborate with engineering and finance to meet BOM cost targets.
  6. Timing: Create work breakdown structures with milestones. Manage timelines, schedules, and gate reviews. Use program timelines in SDT meetings. Track issues with clear due dates and responsibilities.
  7. Product Management: Lead the team to meet craftsmanship standards, address gaps, and audit customer samples. Manage CAD, prototype, and testing schedules. Ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  8. Customer Satisfaction: Build strong relationships with customer contacts. Maintain credibility and be recognized as a key contact. Respond promptly to issues, communicate scope changes, and document correspondence. Understand customer procedures and organizational structure.
  9. Global Management Skills: Adapt to different cultures, demonstrate cultural awareness and respect, and show interest in other cultures.

Specific Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience.
