POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Operations Manager is a strategic role responsible for driving site-wide operational excellence, continuous improvement, and capital project execution. The role demands a strong character with the ability to lead change, challenge the status quo, and foster a culture of discipline and innovation. Key responsibilities include leading labor efficiency efforts, automation integration, and Industry 4.0 initiatives to optimize performance and align with corporate growth objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing deployment across the plant using tools such as 5S, SMED, Standard Work, Kaizen, and Visual Management.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to production and maintenance teams.
  • Drive transformation projects focus on headcount efficiency, automation, and plant digitization.
  • Own the development and execution of the Capex portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy and financial planning.
  • Actively implement and promote Industry 4.0 strategies including smart automation, digital dashboards, and real-time analytics.
  • Facilitate value stream analysis, waste elimination, and structured problem‑solving initiatives.
  • Serve as a key change agent to foster high performance, urgency, and accountability.
  • Mentor and coach cross‑functional teams to build Lean capabilities and sustain improvements.
  • Lead plant‑wide Gemba walks, tiered meetings, and KPI governance routines.
  • Optimize resource utilization and labor models through time studies and process reengineering.
  • Report regularly on progress to site leadership, including KPIs, ROI, and project milestones.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8–10 years of experience in lean manufacturing, operations excellence, or industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record leading cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Lean tools, Six Sigma concepts, and project management practices.
  • Experience managing or participating in Capex planning and execution.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt).
  • Experience in a global manufacturing company.
  • Capex program management experience (project justification, tracking, ROI).
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • Regular presence on the production floor.
  • Ability to lead physical Gemba walks and improvement events.
  • The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
  • Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
  • Exposure to shop floor manufacturing environment.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Travel to different office or plant locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
