A leading company in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Procurement Specialist in Reynosa. The role involves managing complex procurement functions, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting cost-reduction initiatives. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in purchasing and strong skills in material planning and supply chain management.

What will you do?
Under general direction, responsible for performing complex procurement functions in compliance with JCI internal policies. Participate in bids under corporate direction, address supplier issues, and maintain metrics for inventory value, turns, escalations, and discrepancies according to goals.
Comply with Environmental Health & Safety guidelines and regulations.
How will you do it?
Purchase materials and services from evaluated suppliers that meet specified requirements.
1. Procure assigned materials to meet inventory, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
2. Place purchase orders via Optimize, execute maintenance as required (expedite, de-expedite, cancel).
3. Analyze shortages report for each vendor.
4. Review and follow up on E&O to minimize inventory impact.
5. Support SOI project implementation with MKE procurement team.
6. Approve premium freight requests.
7. Distribute routing guides to vendors and support foreign shipping instructions.
8. Provide ETAs for Planning Summarized files.
9. Maintain purchasing parameters (MOQ, MPU, LT, pricing, auto-reply, current cost).
10. Support initiatives for cost and lead time reduction, supplier consolidation, and inventory management programs.
11. Manage business move phases (face-in, face-out).
12. Issue last-time buy orders for EOL items.
13. Support EC activities.
14. Assist in VAVE projects.
15. Issue RFQs for new items and shortages.
16. Approve PPV variations and document reasons.
17. Issue MRO orders for expedite, tooling, external services.
18. Send specifications to suppliers.
19. Obtain OTO approval from Sustaining.
20. Follow-up on NCNR approvals.
21. Attend meetings and trainings.
22. Resolve invoice discrepancies.
23. Review supplier liability inventory periodically.
24. Participate in risk assessments.
25. Engage in EHS programs and suggestions.
26. Implement security, health, and environmental policies.
27. Support risk and environmental identification.
28. Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
29. Define corrective and preventive actions.
30. Maintain logs and review procedures for OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001.
31. Identify and correct unsafe acts, recognize safe behaviors.
32. Report environmental impacts.
33. Analyze and prevent activity consequences.
34. Contribute to safety, health, and environment objectives.
35. Learn and apply continuous improvement strategies, including Lean & Six Sigma methodologies.
What we look for?
Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing, material planning, or production control.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP; bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience in Resins & Metal Mechanics commodities.
Good communication skills, APICS certification desirable.
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, knowledge of ISO 9001:2000, Lean manufacturing, responsible, well-organized, able to work independently.
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
