Eaton Corporation in Mexico is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support day-to-day operations, analyze data for process improvements, and provide on-floor technical support to meet safety, quality, and cost goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and production teams, training, and adherence to Pro Launch and Continuous Improvement practices. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering position.
  • Knowledge of PFMEAs, routers, BOMs, equipment PMs, technique sheets, and equipment programs.
  • General knowledge of EHS processes.
  • General knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes.

Responsabilidades

  • Contribute to robust manufacturing processes, methods and line loading for new products or orders.
  • Provide cost and production data analyses to support schedules and capacity decisions.
  • Evaluate machinery and tooling for safety, capacity, and effectiveness.
  • Develop specifications for new equipment and manage capital projects.
  • Prepare operation line-ups and lead training for operators and leaders.
  • Support Pro Launch and Lean Six Sigma initiatives through process maps and control plans.
  • Estimate manufacturing times and reduce standard times where possible.
  • Plan and control expenditures of facility programs and maintain records.

What you’ll do:

Job summary

Support day to day manufacturing operations as part of a cross-functional high performance work team. Collect and analyze manufacturing data for process improvements that relate to safety, product quality, customer delivery and cost reductions. Provide on-floor process information for training and meeting engineering standards. Support and provide production associate the tools required to perform the job in a manner to meet all requirements.

Job responsibilities
  • Contribute to the determination of robust manufacturing processes, methods and machine or line loading to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives. Plan all tooling such as jigs, fixtures, special tools, and similar items.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Evaluate existing machinery, fabrication equipment, tooling, etc for safety, capacity, capability, effectiveness, etc.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and manage capital projects.
  • Outline the required workflow and material handling devices including storage areas, work areas, and workplace layout.
  • Prepare complete operation line-ups to manufacture all parts for a product line or for a section.
  • Provide training, guidance and technical support to leaders, operators and team members.
  • Cooperate with partners and Manager in the follow-up of ProLanch process for all new product introduction activities, assuring that all phase gates expectations are fully achieved.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.
  • Estimate the time required to manufacture all parts for a product line or a section based on the most economical methods developed through manufacturing planning in conjunction with methods, tools, work, plant layouts, and design engineering. Actively reduce current standard times.
  • Compile complete cost analyses for a product line or section based on extension of hourly rates, burden and material costs, cost of new machine tools and the handling of equipment. This includes specifications for such items as layouts, tooling, machine tools, and material.
  • Follow all cost reducing methods through installation and successful operation.
  • Recommend replacements and dispositions of equipment and facilities for a given area and maintain applicable records.
  • Plan and control expenditures of the annual facility programs encompassed in the respective area of responsibility and maintain applicable records. Prepare reports on new methods.
  • Take necessary measures to improve the quality of product and information in the respective area of responsibility. Lead corrective/preventive actions on his areas of responsibility.
  • Safety responsibilities include safety and housekeeping objectives; follow all safety rules and procedures and report unsafe conditions to line management.
  • Support EQMS initiative by revision and compliance of policies with stress on follow up of FMEA and Control plans
  • Contribute to the accreditation of the plant under the ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Years and area of experience required

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering position

Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of (design, development, implementation, etc.) of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of external customers quality specifications.
  • Knowledge of equipment designing, gauging, and tooling utilizing solid modeling software and other engineering analysis and design tools.
  • Knowledge of PFMEAs, routers, BOMs, equipment PMs, technique sheets, and equipment programs.
  • General knowledge of EHS processes.
  • General knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes
