Collins Aerospace in Mexicali, MX, is seeking an experienced electrical/automation engineer to support manufacturing and maintenance of electronic equipment. The role involves analyzing equipment, conducting tests, planning manufacturing activities, executing maintenance, and ensuring projects meet goals.

Formación

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Proficient Conversational and written English required.
  • Experience in software management, installation of Windows applications for electrical testing programs and PC hardware (port cards, video cards, etc.).

Responsabilidades

  • Analyze equipment and conduct experimental tests to establish operating data.
  • Plan manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus to ensure projects are completed on-time and per goals.
  • Determine material and equipment needs and order supplies to ensure sufficient resources for project completion.
  • Develop or perform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems to ensure effectiveness of engineering processes.
  • Manage activities for manufacture, construction, installation, maintenance, operation, or modification of electronic equipment, products, or systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare, review or maintain maintenance schedules, design documentation, or operational reports to track progress and performance.
  • Resolve day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
  • Troubleshoot electrical device problems to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in other equipment and devices.
  • Research, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for various purposes.

What You Will Do

  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means.
  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components. Includes power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and servomechanisms. Includes circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.
  • Works autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
  • Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with corporate leaders through in-person meetings, presentations, reports, and written correspondence.
  • May be required to travel occasionally to the United States to support business needs.
Qualifications You Must Have

Qualifications We Preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, and reporting).
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python, SQL, C#, or similar) demonstrating logical problem-solving and process automation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience supporting electronic manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or production support activities.
