Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr. Manufacturing Automation Technical Project Manager located in Flex Guadalajara, North.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Automation Engineering, this role involves leading regional and site-specific activities to enhance growth and productivity by deploying successful automated lines. Align and support each Business Unit to ensure goals are achieved.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of automation projects, defining scope, goals, and deliverables. Establish project tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (leadership, design and engineering, sales, marketing) to prioritize requirements that support growth and productivity aligned with business goals.
  • Develop financial models and conduct market analysis to identify new initiatives related to growth: ROI, investment costs, scalable solutions, etc.
  • Define clear process requirements to automate processes that meet goals such as ROI and investment efficiency.
  • Identify potential customers or projects and manage communication with specific customers.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control within established limits.
  • Coordinate with other functions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations (Information Security, Finance, EHS, ESD, CE, UL, etc.).
  • Promote core product capabilities and explore opportunities, representing various industry products, solutions, and value propositions internally and with customers.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS/MBA in Engineering (electronics, mechanics, mechatronics) or similar.
  • Advanced project management experience, preferably with PMI certification.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, maintenance, engineering, and technical systems: machines, processes, manufacturing.
  • Experience in evaluations, planning, and strategy; result-oriented, flexible, passionate, creative, hands-on, eager to learn and improve, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ownership of team tasks, good teamwork, ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • GAP analysis skills.
  • Experience with tracking systems and global customer communication.
  • Advanced English proficiency (for cross-functional worldwide interactions).
  • Financial knowledge (P&L, balancing investments and savings).
  • Valid US visa and passport.
  • Desirable experience in electronics, automotive, plastics, metals, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Ability to influence long-term strategic and operational success, with potential P&L responsibility.
  • Flexibility in working hours due to global communication needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (PLC, SolidWorks, Robot, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar TPM role, responsible for automation projects, planning, scheduling, quality, budgeting, troubleshooting, data analysis, and familiar with tools like DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE, CPK, R&R, and standards like ISO9001, TS16949.
