Sr Manager Software Engineer

We are seeking Full Stack Software Engineers passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Sr. Manager Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of a major transformation within Capital One.

What You’ll Do:

1. Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of experienced developers in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions meeting regulatory needs.
2. Share your passion for staying updated on tech trends, experimenting with new technologies, participating in tech communities, mentoring others, and occasionally coding or evaluating code.
3. Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that provide powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.
4. Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, along with Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Intermediate-Advanced English fluency
2. Bachelor’s Degree
3. At least 8 years of experience in software engineering (excluding internships)
4. At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
5. At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree
2. At least 9 years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, C#/.Net, or Go
3. At least 3 years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure
4. At least 4 years of experience with open source frameworks
5. At least 7 years of people management experience
6. At least 2 years of experience practicing Agile methodologies
