Formación

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Facilities/Maintenance technicians operate and maintain facilities equipment including, but not limited to, building controls, fire protection systems, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). They are responsible for maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of utilities equipment, maintaining the physical structure of the establishment, and general electrical systems in an industrial, cGMP regulated facility. Utilities equipment includes chillers, boilers, air handling units, exhaust ventilation, dehumidifiers, cooling towers, compressed air systems, reheat, fire prevention, emergency power generators, water treatment, UPS, and environmental control systems. All maintenance activities are documented in the site computer maintenance management system (CMMS).

The technicians perform maintenance, service, and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other building upkeep activities as needed. They plan, coordinate, inspect, and support project management for facility-related projects, including building remodeling, equipment installation, safety and environmental compliance, mechanical systems maintenance, and energy management programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure facility maintenance and environmental monitoring activities are completed on schedule.
  • Participate in facility equipment installations.
  • Perform minor repairs on buildings and systems.
  • Ensure contractors follow EES requirements on-site.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Follow all safety policies and precautions.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.
  • Follow J&J and EES Records Management Policies.
  • Support reliability principles and practices, including infrared, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and alignment methods.
  • Conduct predictive maintenance on utility equipment using reliability tools.
  • Utilize reliability techniques for lubrication, alignment, and vibration evaluations.
  • Propose improvements based on reliability studies.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Coordinate with vendors and repair shops.
  • Organize and implement facilities projects.
  • Demonstrate leadership and project management skills.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance work at least two weeks in advance.
  • Attain Green Belt and FPX certification.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role does not involve direct management of employees but reports to an engineer.

  • Ability to write reports with mathematical emphasis.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret graphs.
  • Proficient in general shop and power tools.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Technical Education Diploma required; High School Diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience preferred.
  • Experience in Reliability-Centered Maintenance, RCA, and FMEA training required.
