Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs), and advise plants on tool and machine duplications, corrections, and improvements. They design and develop manufacturing processes and automation platforms and apply them for new product development as well as optimization of existing products. The Teams also support Product Development in selecting and optimizing tools for piece part production and choosing the most suitable manufacturing concepts based on planned quantities, quality requirements, and location. They act as an interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs, smooth ramp-up, and support R&D teams in producing sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.

What your background should look like:

This position primarily supports New Product Development for NA TE Aerospace and Defense locations. The candidate will perform financial analysis to support decision-making for new products, including Make vs. Buy analysis, capital equipment justification, cost modeling, and P&L development and analysis. The role also involves process development planning, as well as Bill of Materials and Process Routing creation in SAP.

Day-to-Day Job Overview:

  1. Support financial analysis for new product development projects.
  2. Complete capital equipment justifications.
  3. Develop and enter process routings and Bill of Materials in SAP for new NPD part numbers.
  4. Create Gantt charts and project plans to support new product process development.
  5. Support master data accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide accurate and timely analysis to the core team on manufacturing scenarios, program health, and equipment justification.
  2. Develop program timelines and milestones, tracking to ensure on-time delivery.
  3. Load SAP master data for new part numbers.

Team Composition/Specific Group Info:

  • The position is part of the Center Lead Engineering Team supporting all AD&M facilities in North America, primarily focusing on supporting new product development. Additional support may be required at the plant level for master data accuracy.
  • The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams in support of new product launches.
  • Proficiency in Excel, project planning software, and SAP is required.
  • Good English communication skills (written and oral) are essential.
