Descripción del empleo

As a member of the Classification & Origin team, you will be responsible for identifying and collecting required documentation to conduct and support preferential origin determinations in multiple jurisdictions.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Identify items that could be eligible for qualification under USMCA, or other preferential trade agreements.
  • Collect, validate and document required documentation to determine qualification.
  • Classify materials at different stages of production to determine applicability of requirements for qualification.
  • Identify the required information for classification, validation, and gathering information from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departments such as sourcing, engineering, R&D and other areas.
  • Issue applicable certificates to customers.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 3+ years of experience in the field of customs classification.
  • 3+ years of experience with USMCA or other preferential trade agreements.
  • 3+ years of experience researching and use tools such as Cross Rulings, explanatory notes, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, drawing/specs, and other materials to help classify products.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting and applying regulatory laws and guidelines.

  • Be willing to travel if situations arise where travel is necessary.
  • Experience with Customs regulations, classification determination, and ability to use multiple tools for information gathering.
