Ascendion is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead innovative data science projects in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The role involves collaboration with project managers, implementing cutting-edge LLM and RAG technologies, and driving solutions from concept to production. Candidates should be experienced in Python, data processing, and cloud applications, contributing their expertise to transformative initiatives.

We are looking for a strong SR Data Scientist with the next qualifications:

• Engage in discussions with PMs to define and scope the Data Science (DS) component of new projects.
• Lead new projects from ideation to production, driving end-to-end DS solutions.

1. Large Language Models (LLMs) & Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

• Experience implementing RAG in production, with a deep understanding of nuances (chunking, ranking, etc.).
• Expertise in LLMs: Designing chains of LLM prompts, Evaluating LLM outputs (manual evaluation and using LLMs as judges).

2. Prompt Engineering

• Ability to design multi-step LLM prompt chains (from initial to final prompts).

4. Python

• Proficient in data processing and analysis.
• Skilled in scripting and coding (mainly scripting, limited coding).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of databases: SQL DB, Solr/OpenSearch.
• Experience with LangChain and LLaMA models.
• Familiarity with Agentic RAG and agents.
• AWS Hands-on experience with S3 and Lambda (same level of expertise as current environment).
