A tech company in Mexico City is seeking a Data Engineer to help with cloud data migration and optimization projects. This role involves collaborating with the engineering team to design scalable data structures and define storage solutions in AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate has proven experience in cloud migration projects and strong knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases. The first few months will be on-site, transitioning to a hybrid work model.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in cloud migration projects (Azure/AWS).
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.

At Onetree, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in cloud data migration and optimization projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the engineering team on the migration of functionality from Azure to AWS, designing efficient and scalable data structures.
• Define the best storage solutions in AWS and Azure, based on access patterns, data size, cost, scalability, and resilience.
• Design, build, and test data migration processes across clouds, including co-hosting scenarios and gradual transitions of read and write operations.

Requirements:

• The position requires candidates must be based in Mexico City. The first few months will be on-site, after which the role will move to a hybrid work model.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in cloud migration projects (Azure / AWS)
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines (DBT, Glue, DMS).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate in dynamic environments.
• Experience working with Fabric.
