Job summary

Bring IT is seeking a seasoned Controller to own a full books clean-up for a growing multi-location, clinic-based mental healthcare business in the US. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll set the accounting methodology and deliver close-ready books with documented processes.

You will drive revenue recognition under ASC 606, AR/AP clean-up, ASC 842 lease handling, and intercompany consolidations, ensuring audit-ready controls and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Healthcare industry experience in multi-site or clinic-based organizations (must).
• Proven track record leading books clean-ups or close remediation projects.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Strong experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity consolidations.
• Ability to work independently and present findings to executive leadership.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Lead the clean-up end to end: define plan, priorities and timeline, acting as CFO partner on accounting matters.
• Revenue cycle & ASC 606: set revenue recognition policy and reconcile billing and EHR data to the GL.
• AR clean-up: design AR reserve methodology and rebuild/reconcile AR by entity, location and payer.
• AP & accruals: establish cutoff and month-end accrual policies and oversee AP clean-up and vendor reconciliations.
• Payroll: define accrual methodology and ensure it reconciles to the GL.
• ASC 842 leases: lead lease inventory and build ROU asset and lease liability schedules.
• Inventory & GL review: correct medical supply accounting and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intercompany & consolidations: own intercompany accounting and consolidation process across entities.
• Processes & controls: document processes to ensure the close is repeatable and audit-ready.

About The Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Controller to own and lead a full books clean-up for a growing multi-location, multi-entity, clinic-based mental healthcare business in the US. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll set the accounting methodology, make the judgment calls and deliver close-ready books with documented, repeatable processes.

What you’ll do

• Lead the clean-up end to end: Define the plan, priorities and timeline, and act as the CFO’s go-to partner on accounting matters.
• Revenue cycle & ASC 606: Set the revenue recognition policy for contractual allowances, denials and patient responsibility, and own the reconciliation of billing and EHR data to the GL.
• AR clean-up: Design a supportable AR reserve methodology and lead the rebuild and reconciliation of AR by entity, location and payer, including unapplied cash.
• AP & accruals: Establish cutoff and month-end accrual policies and oversee the AP subledger clean-up and vendor reconciliations.
• Payroll: Define accrual methodology for payroll, benefits, bonuses and provider compensation, and ensure it reconciles to the GL.
• ASC 842 leases: Lead the lease inventory and build maintainable ROU asset and lease liability schedules.
• Inventory & GL review: Correct medical supply inventory accounting, sign off on balance sheet reconciliations and review the P&L.
• Intercompany & consolidations: Own intercompany accounting and the consolidation process across all entities.
• Processes & controls: Document processes and internal controls so the close is repeatable and audit-ready.

What you bring

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Healthcare industry experience in multi-site or clinic-based organizations (must)
• QuickBooks proficiency (must)
• Proven track record leading books clean-ups or close remediation projects
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 and ASC 842
• Strong experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity consolidations
• Ability to work independently and present findings to executive leadership
• Advanced English

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent certification
• Experience with revenue cycle management (RCM) or EHR billing systems
• Background in mental or behavioral healthcare
• Audit readiness or Big 4 experience
