Formación

  • Over 3 years of experience in category purchasing strategies within manufacturing.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with Advanced Excel for reporting.

Role Description

The Sr. Buyer develops and implements strategies, guidelines, and processes for the procurement of direct materials within the established categories, in alignment with Robertshaw’s policies and guidelines.

Main responsibilities

  • Coordinates supply risk mitigation actions between suppliers and operations.
  • Prepares and follows up on cost-saving or component integration projects.
  • Capitalizes on savings or mitigates price increases based on international economic indicators.
  • Develops the commercial relationship with the supplier and defines and manages the leverage strategy.
  • Works cross-functionally to remove barriers for executing projects aligned with the category strategy or urgent operational needs.
  • Performs SWOT analysis of the supply chain.
  • Conducts market analysis and exploration.
  • Mitigates various types of supply risks.
  • Analyzes international market conditions.
  • Executes and monitors new integration projects and supplier development due to plant capacity needs.
  • Develops and implements cost-saving projects (PPV).
  • Requests PPAPs and samples for the validation of new components in new projects.
  • Negotiates to reduce lead times and improve payment terms.
  • Supports the release of held invoices due to discrepancies preventing processing.
  • Follows up on new sales projects.
  • Works on MOQ reduction, and negotiates and implements programs such as consignment, VMI, etc.

Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of experience implementing category purchasing strategies and processes in the manufacturing industry.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with Advanced Excel tools for reporting.
  • Experience with Plex is a plus
  • Negotiation skills.

Education

  • Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, International Trade or related fields.
