Job Summary:
The VCM Senior Analyst Finance acts as the single source of cost data for assigned program(s). They serve as a trusted advisor on cost-related issues to the Program Director, Chief Vehicle Engineer, Purchasing Project Manager, and Finance. The Senior Analyst contributes to transforming the Vehicle Cost Management team into a key driver of cost performance in projects and provides leadership and guidance to staff.

Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership, guidance, support, coaching, and training to staff, and assisting in developing objectives and evaluating performance.
  • Supporting the team’s vision as a driver of cost performance from Pre-Concept to Mass Production, contributing to NCO NML plan of VCM role transformation, and acting as a primary point of contact for NCO contributions in projects.
  • Tracking Total Delivery Cost (TdC) upstream, downstream, and during mass production to measure progress against budgets and cost reduction targets.
  • Collaborating with the Product Development Team to ensure budgets and forecasts for purchased parts, vendor tooling, logistics, and manufacturing reflect current design, risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of program financials to all stakeholders including Engineering, Purchasing, Program Directors, Chief Vehicle Engineers, Finance, etc.
  • Engaging in business case development and supporting other groups to optimize costs and profitability.
  • Promoting early risk and opportunity identification, leveraging NCO expertise to challenge costs.
  • Generating cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking, feature cost analysis, and supporting implementation of cost-saving initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Developing Business Plans for Minor and Full Model Changes in collaboration with Finance, Purchasing, R&D, and PMO.
  • Coordinating with Product Development and Cost Engineering Teams to meet profitability goals, providing leadership and training, and working with regional counterparts to standardize practices.
  • Driving continuous improvement and documentation of procedures within the country, North America, and globally.
  • Championing digitization and streamlining of cost management processes and contributing to digital training initiatives.
Qualifications

1. Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Passion for business transformation, problem-solving skills, and understanding of vehicle development processes.
  • Ability to translate data insights into decisions and actions.
  • Leadership and program management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

2. Years of Experience:

  • At least 7 years in automotive manufacturing, finance, engineering, purchasing, PMO, or vehicle program management, including new model development.

3. Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, or related field; MBA preferred.

4. Certifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access.
