The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. This role will support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, as well as internal and external audits, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances; provide explanations and propose corrections.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory and tax filings.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cost Accounting) to ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Lead or participate in finance-related projects and initiatives.
Annual tax preparation, monthly income tax installments, SAT requirements, VAT tax returns
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Maquila Taxes or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally in a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced English (written and spoken).
