What you’ll do?
- Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragmentation, and database statistics.
- Perform database shrink operations and execute DBCC commands.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, and deadlocking issues.
- Implement Query Store, table partitioning, and encryption.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization.
- Resolve SQL Server performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, and disk I/O.
- Handle SQL Server installation, upgrades, migrations, and configuration.
- Apply database software service packs and cumulative updates as needed.
- Maintain documentation related to databases.
- Manage and administer database security access.
- Develop high availability strategies for MS SQL environments (e.g., Always On, clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication).
- Perform ad-hoc database backups and restores.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues.
- Follow Change Management processes for configuration changes.
- Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot recurring issues.
- Monitor and respond proactively to MSSQL database alerts.
- Participate in on-call support to ensure 24/7 database operations.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 6 years of experience as a database administrator in SQL Server environments.
- At least 4 years of SQL Server database development and programming.
- Experience with Transact-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS package development.
- Experience administering SQL Server versions 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, including Active Directory and disk configurations.
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience.
Soft Skills
