About the Role

This position is responsible for purchasing goods, researching, evaluating areas of opportunity, and reducing costs.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze MRP and take proper steps to support the production plan.
  • Ensure all purchasing processes follow standards defined by ISO.
  • Participate in NPI projects to ensure all parts are pulled on time from vendors.
  • Place and follow through on purchase orders with vendors.
  • Consolidate shipments to minimize freight costs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Area to resolve invoice issues.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects to enhance planning and production support.
  • Support new product planning.
  • Review inventory levels to support inventory reduction goals.
  • Have the authority to stop a process or activity or give coaching if unsafe conditions are detected, which could compromise worker or environmental safety.
  • Work with the master planner to align demand with raw component lead times.
  • Participate in and support environmental, health, and safety objectives and programs.
  • Assist the quality team in resolving vendor quality issues to ensure smooth flow of parts and solutions to detected issues.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and inventory control on issues related to inventory discrepancies.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position within an industrial product manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in English (90%).
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Commodity expertise in chemicals, electronics, and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of minimum and maximum purchase quantities.
