We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Specialist Engineering.

Role Purpose:

The Specialist Engineer is responsible for delivering and providing engineering expertise in a specialist Technology engineering area, which may include data engineering, security engineering, front-end engineering, user experience engineering.

They may support platforms specific to an HSBC business area requiring specialist Technology engineering expertise; they may be accountable for a product or service within a Technology engineering specialism; or they may provide subject matter expertise to one or more Technology teams in their area of specialization.

Main Activities:

This role will carry out some or all of the following responsibilities:

• Design and engineer software with a focus on customer/user experience.
• Contribute to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise, best practices, and learnings.
• Ensure adherence to all standards and policies within their area of Technology Engineering.
• Support data-related infrastructure and architecture to optimize data storage and usage, addressing functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and develop applications with a focus on interface and front-end usability.
• Implement security measures to protect systems, networks, products, and services.
• Establish a digital environment and automate processes for high-quality code and data.
• Support incident identification and resolution as directed by DevOps leadership.
• Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery objectives are met.
• Stay updated on current tools, technologies, cyber security, and regulations related to data privacy, consent, and residency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant controls and standards.
