Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation in Hermosillo, Sonora, is seeking a SOURCING & PROCUREMENT ANALYST I to manage tool crib procurement, supplier follow-up, and inventory control to ensure production continuity and cost optimization.

You will handle quotations, purchase orders, intercompany purchases, cycle counts, and KPI tracking, working with Engineering and Production to secure tooling and consumables while identifying cost-reduction opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as listed.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Purchasing or Procurement.
• Advanced SAP knowledge preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing and Procurement Management: request quotations, evaluate pricing and delivery lead times, create requisitions and purchase orders including intercompany purchases, follow up on orders.
• Inventory Control: monitor min/max levels, analyze consumption, coordinate replenishments, support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Production and Maintenance Support: ensure tool availability for production, manage urgent purchases, coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance/Production teams.
• Analysis and Continuous Improvement: identify cost reductions, standardize tools, develop and monitor KPIs.

Job Overview

Responsible for the timely procurement of tools, consumables, and spare parts for the Tool Crib, ensuring availability for production and maintenance through effective supplier management, inventory control, and purchase order follow-up, contributing to operational continuity and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing and Procurement Management
Request quotations from suppliers.
Evaluate and compare pricing, quality, and delivery lead times.
Create purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders, including intercompany purchases from other TE sites.
Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries, and committed delivery dates.

2. Inventory Control
Monitor minimum and maximum inventory levels for tools and consumables.
Analyze consumption trends to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
Coordinate inventory replenishment activities.
Review and support cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

3. Production and Maintenance Support
Ensure the availability of tools and consumables required for production operations.
Manage urgent purchases to prevent production downtime.
Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams regarding special tooling and equipment requirements.

4. Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Identify cost reduction opportunities.
Standardize tools and consumables to reduce inventory complexity and optimize stock levels.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
Cost savings generated
On-time deliveries
Tool Crib service level
Inventory value

Job Requirements

  Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related areas.

  Technical Knowledge

  • Advanced SAP knowledge (preferred).
