Ford Mexico is seeking an Automotive Software Quality Assurance Engineer for the In-Vehicle Software Engineering team. You will ensure reliability, functionality, and seamless integration of connected vehicle software before it reaches drivers.

In an agile environment, you will validate releases, build test automation with Python, and collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver a bug-free, high-quality in-cabin experience that enhances vehicle warranties and customer satisfaction.

Formación

• Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics is required or in final year.
• Strong Python skills for automation scripts and data analysis.
• Experience with automotive software is preferred.
• Solid understanding of electronics and measurement tools.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute functional tests for in-vehicle software releases.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts and tools (Python).
• Validate supplier software packages and ECU feature releases.
• Document, track, and verify defects to resolution in Jira.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to meet milestones.
• Analyze telemetry data to suggest improvements and reduce warranty issues.

Objective of the Position
As an Automotive Software Quality Assurance Engineer within our In-Vehicle Software Engineering team, you will ensure the reliability, functionality, and seamless integration of connected vehicle software before it reaches drivers. Working within an agile engineering environment, you will bridge the gap between software development and vehicle readiness—validating software releases, building test automation, and collaborating across engineering disciplines to deliver an exceptional, bug-free in-cabin experience that directly drives vehicle quality and warranty reduction.

What you'll do...

• Design, execute, and maintain functional test cases and test suites based on engineering requirements using ISTQB standards and Agile (Scrum) frameworks.
• Validate supplier-delivered software packages and Electronic Control Unit (ECU) feature releases to verify system integrity and functionality prior to deployment.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution using industry-standard issue-tracking platforms (such as Jira).
• Build and maintain automation scripts and testing tools (primarily using Python) to streamline data acquisition, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Partner with software developers and cross-functional vehicle engineering teams to support release milestones and resolve production-related software concerns.
• Analyze diagnostic and telemetry data to propose troubleshooting recommendations, reduce warranty issues, and champion continuous software quality improvements.

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Last year of the following careers like, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics.
• Demonstrated foundational knowledge in automotive systems,
• Hands-on proficiency in Python programming for automation scripts, test harnesses, or data analysis.
• Solid understanding of basic electronic circuits and practical
• Experience using laboratory measurement instruments (such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes).
• Professional verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical defects and collaborate across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Understanding state diagrams, flowcharts and decision tables.
