The successful applicant will participate in hands-on development and testing of web-based applications, ensuring quality and consistency. The successful applicant will report to the Risk Technology Solutions Engineering Lead (UK based).

The role offers hybrid working with travel to office expected on a regular cadence to work with other India based team members – this role is not fully remote.

The Role

• Provide hands-on development of class-leading web-based applications and services, using software best practices.
• Work closely with theLead QA and the Solutions Engineering Lead maintaining good lines of communication.
• Design and implement test cases and test scripts to verify data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Identify and troubleshoot data issues, root causes, and potential bottlenecks.
• Document test results, defects, and testing activities in detail.
• Work closely with software developers, data engineers, business analyst and product managers to understand system architecture and requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members to discuss testing strategies, findings, and recommendations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover data anomalies, inconsistencies, and edge cases.
• Demonstrate agility, ability to think outside the box and challenge established development processes and procedures.
• Keen to learn new things and explore AI tools.

Qualifications

The Requirements

Essential:

• A strong individual drive to learn, challenge yourself and grow as part of an experienced global development team.
• Minimum of 5+ years software testing experience and ability to perform data testing
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
• Experienced in developing and maintaining automation scripts
• Capable of setting up and monitoring CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and quality assurance.
• Experience with the SDLC including maintenance and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a broader project team
• First-rate communication skills and ability to apply these to rapid and creative problem-solving in a pressurised environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid work style and with teams based in differing time zones.
• Shift timings - Start early to overlap with UK hours

Desirable:

• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation and data manipulation.
• Good to have API testing knowledge.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
• Demonstratable Knowledge in C# or Python
• Stay updated on industry trends, testing methodologies, and emerging technologies relevant to QA.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification
• Keen to learn new technologies like AI Tools
• Experience working in a financial services organization, preferably with exposure to the insurance industry/insurance broking. Where this directly relevant experience is not available, we will be looking for an ability to rapidly become effective in a new, unfamiliar environment.
